ASC Learning Support Assistant – Secondary
Full Time, Temporary to Permanent | Barking and Dagenham
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £90 per day (PAYE)
Make a Real Difference in a Pupil’s Life
For some young people, school can feel overwhelming, confusing, or even unsafe. They may find it difficult to communicate, engage, or connect with others. With the right support, every pupil can feel understood, confident, and able to thrive – and that’s where your role comes in.
A School That Puts Every Pupil First
This outstanding secondary school in Barking and Dagenham specialises in supporting children and young people with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Learning is tailored, structured, and purposeful, with a focus on strengths rather than challenges.
With small class sizes, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You will work alongside skilled teachers and therapists to help pupils build confidence, gain independence, and rediscover their love of learning – sometimes for the first time.
What the Role Offers:
-
A calm, structured setting where both pupils and staff can thrive
-
Opportunities to collaborate closely with therapists, SENCOs, and a supportive leadership team
-
Daily opportunities to see pupils make real progress, from engaging in lessons to developing essential life skills
-
A friendly, collaborative team who value your input and ideas
Who We Are Looking For
You may have experience supporting children or young people with ASC or other SEND, or come from a background in care, pastoral support, or youth work. Most importantly, you are patient, compassionate, resilient, and committed to helping every pupil feel safe and valued.
If you are enthusiastic, curious, and eager to learn, training, mentoring, and support will be provided so you can start making an impact immediately.
Change Lives Every Day
This is more than a job – it is an opportunity to make a lasting difference. Whether it’s helping a pupil speak their first words or supporting them to manage their emotions, each day brings meaningful and rewarding work.
