Autism Advisory Facilitator – Secondary & Post-16
Support Autistic and neurodivergent young people to thrive
Location: Barnet – Schools and Colleges across the borough
Contract: Full time / Term time - flexible to the individual. Up to 2 days WFH/Remote per week
Salary: £32,061 - £33,699 FTE
As an Autism Advisory Facilitator, you’ll work closely with secondary and post-16 students to help them achieve their potential, build confidence, and navigate their learning environment successfully. You’ll also coach and support school staff to implement strategies that make a real difference for Autistic and neurodivergent young people.
This role involves regular in-person visits to schools across Barnet, giving you a varied and impactful week.
What you’ll be doing

Support students with autism and neurodivergence in and out of the classroom

Assist in creating and implementing individual support plans

Coach and model strategies for school staff to ensure effective support

Develop resources such as visual timetables, schedules, and personalised learning tools

Promote inclusion, independence, and self-advocacy for students

Build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external agencies

Contribute to monitoring progress, evaluating interventions, and sharing feedback
Who we’re looking for

Experience working with Autistic or neurodivergent young people

Understanding of adolescent development and SEND provision

Confident using ICT to create resources and support learning

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

Strong communication skills and a flexible, solution-focused approach

Training in relevant strategies to support Autistic students
