Autism Advisory Facilitator – Secondary & Post-16
Support Autistic and neurodivergent young people to thrive

Location: Barnet – Schools and Colleges across the borough
Contract: Full time / Term time - flexible to the individual. Up to 2 days WFH/Remote per week
Salary: £32,061 - £33,699 FTE

As an Autism Advisory Facilitator, you’ll work closely with secondary and post-16 students to help them achieve their potential, build confidence, and navigate their learning environment successfully. You’ll also coach and support school staff to implement strategies that make a real difference for Autistic and neurodivergent young people.

This role involves regular in-person visits to schools across Barnet, giving you a varied and impactful week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support students with autism and neurodivergence in and out of the classroom

  • Assist in creating and implementing individual support plans

  • Coach and model strategies for school staff to ensure effective support

  • Develop resources such as visual timetables, schedules, and personalised learning tools

  • Promote inclusion, independence, and self-advocacy for students

  • Build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external agencies

  • Contribute to monitoring progress, evaluating interventions, and sharing feedback

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience working with Autistic or neurodivergent young people

  • Understanding of adolescent development and SEND provision

  • Confident using ICT to create resources and support learning

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

  • Strong communication skills and a flexible, solution-focused approach

  • Training in relevant strategies to support Autistic students
