Are you an experienced SEN Teacher who is looking to take on a new challenge in September 2026. We are working alongside a mainstream secondary school based in Hillingdon who are looking to appoint a committed individual with a passion for supporting children or young people with Autism who is enthusiastic about contributing to therapeutic education. This will be a full-time, permanent position starting September 2026. The pay will range from MPS1 to MPS6 and the school will consider candidates on UPS who demonstrate the right qualities.

 

The role:

  • Lead a mixed secondary class for students aged 11 to 16 years old
  • Can teach an integrated educational and therapeutic practice to students
  • Understanding of KS2/KS3 adapted curriculum
  • Be able to implement sensory learning and manage levels of dysregulation across students
  • Confident in adapting curriculum teaching to provide a personalised teaching tailored to students 
  • Be able to create a structured, nurturing classroom environment 
  • Managed Teaching Assistants and delegate tasks efficiently throughout the school day
  • Work closely with Class Teachers, Therapists and the wider SEN team to aid development

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working in KS2 or secondary
  • Experience teaching students with additional needs in a mainstream or specialist setting
  • Comfortable teaching students with Autism, associated learning needs and complex needs
  • A flexible, reflective and creative teaching approach 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education
