As an experienced teacher, whether in a mainstream or SEN setting, you want to deliver the very best for your students. However, sometimes your goals, standards and the impact you have are diluted by the environment in which you are working. This is a change to change that and propel your teaching career in the right direction.

About the school:

This is a mixed-gender secondary and post-16 SEND school for students aged 11 - 19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. All students receive highly personalised teaching and specialist support. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports academic learning alongside social, emotional and life-skills development, with a strong focus on preparing students for adulthood.

The school:

  • Supports students with a wide range of SEND ranging from Autism to those with complex learning needs
  • Provides a personalised curriculum tailored to individual needs and abilities of each student
  • Has a strong emphasis on independence, communication and confidence
  • Promotes an inclusive, safe and caring school community instilled by their strong leadership team
  • Focuses on positive relationships and wellbeing for both students and staff
  • Prepares students for further education, training and employment

About the role:

You will be responsible for leading a mixed KS3/KS4 class for students with Autism and associated learning needs. As the school delivers tailored pathways shadowing core subjects, you will be required to effectively scaffold learning personalised to the needs of each individual student.

Who this role will suit:

If you are someone feeling stagnant in your teaching career and are looking for a new environment to develop your career further, this will be the role for you. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside Senior Leaders who have spent over a decade at the school nurturing the environment from the ground up. You will be given the opportunity to express your teaching experience while gaining valuable support and training to help your areas of development to help take your teaching to the next level.
