Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Tower Hamlets

School: MS Secondary with SEND Provision

I am seeking a dedicated and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Support for Learning department within this MS Secondary School. This is an opportunity to work within a wide-scale SEND provision that serves a diverse student population in the heart of White Chapel.

You will play a vital role in supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and helping to deliver a curriculum that meets a wide range of needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bespoke Provision Support: Work closely with a small cohort of students (currently approximately four) who do not access the mainstream curriculum.
  • ASD Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working in collaboration with specialist partners within the Borough.
  • Academic Intervention: Support Key Stage 4 students with functional skills and deliver extra English revision sessions to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Flexible Support: Assist students who have been pulled out of standard language tracks to focus on core interventions and functional skills.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Commitment and Reliability: We are looking for someone with excellent attendance who truly "wants to be there" for our students.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working across a wide range of provisions, from academic interventions to bespoke behavioral and learning support.
  • Community Focused: An understanding of the socioeconomic background of the White Chapel area and a passion for supporting students through high-quality intervention.
  • Academic Strength: Ability to support students with academic revision and functional skills at the secondary level.

What We Offer

  • The chance to work within a highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust.
  • A supportive environment led by our dedicated SENCo.
  • The opportunity to make a tangible difference in a school that prides itself on its wide-scale, inclusive SEND provision.
