SEMH College Learning Mentor– Vocational Pathway (Construction)

Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 3:30pm (Term-time only)
£100 - £120 (depending on experience) per day PAYE

We are thrilled to share this amazing opportunity in a vibrant and supportive SEN college for students with SEMH needs. This environment provides their students with the opportunity to learn some key life skills whilst also providing education in areas such as Maths, English, Science, Art and vocational pathways. We are looking for a caring, highly motivated and ambitious person who sees this opportunity for what it really is!
The Role
- Working with students in classroom-based settings, as well as carrying out practical construction lessons.
- Strong communication skills as you will be regularly communicating with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Calm, patient and confidence in working with SEMH students.
- Assist in maintaining a fun, safe environment whilst also encouraging growth and challenges along the way.
Who are we looking for
- Experience working in an SEMH setting
- Experience in construction is essential (carpentry, bricklaying, painting, decorating or mechanics)
- Passionate about making a positive difference and supporting students in preparing for life outside of this setting.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to build meaningful relationships with the students
- Ability to collaborate with staff to ensure strong teamwork
