Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers and reach their potential?
A specialist therapeutic school in North London is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEMH Therapeutic Learning Mentor to support pupils aged 5–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and autism.
Working within a highly nurturing, trauma-informed environment, you'll build trusting relationships with pupils, support emotional regulation and wellbeing, and help them engage positively in learning. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to create a safe, consistent environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
You will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support emotional regulation, wellbeing and engagement in learning.
- Deliver targeted interventions to develop resilience, confidence and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching, therapy and safeguarding teams.
- Promote positive behaviour using therapeutic and restorative approaches.
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, autism or behavioural needs.
- A background in education, youth work, mentoring, care, psychology or a related field.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with excellent communication skills.
- Passionate about making a lasting difference in young people's lives.
