Two opportunities available: 1:1 Year 10 Support & Classroom SEMH Learning Mentors (Years 7–9)

Are you calm under pressure, confident building relationships and passionate about supporting young people who need someone consistent in their corner?

A specialist SEMH school in Enfield is looking for two resilient and committed Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced barriers to education and require a more personalised and relational approach to learning.

This is not simply about supporting pupils academically. It is about building trust, creating consistency and helping young people re-engage with education.

The Opportunities

1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 10

You will work closely with a Year 10 student who requires dedicated support throughout the school day. You will build a strong professional relationship, support emotional regulation and behaviour, encourage engagement with learning and help them work towards greater independence.

Classroom SEN Teaching Assistant – Years 7–9

Working across Years 7–9, you will support pupils within the classroom, helping them access learning, manage emotions and develop positive relationships. You will work alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a structured and supportive environment.

• Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils.

• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to recognise behaviour as communication and respond appropriately.
