Are you passionate about supporting young people who struggle to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?
Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist SEMH school in North London, supporting pupils from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4. The school offers a modern, purpose-built environment and takes a trauma-informed approach to supporting pupils.
The school is currently recruiting for two SEMH Teaching Assistants.
One position will provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 3 pupil who can present with SEMH and behavioural needs. Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs is essential, whether gained professionally or personally.
The second position will be supporting a mixed class of year 10 and year 11 students with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will be confident in building relationships, using de-escalation strategies and remaining calm and consistent during challenging situations.
We are looking for candidates with experience of SEMH, behavioural needs, trauma, sensory processing difficulties or social communication needs. A sports background would also be highly valued, particularly when supporting engagement and emotional regulation.
Patience, resilience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND are essential.
