SEMH Maths & Science Teacher

MPS - UPS + SEN Allowance - Outer London

Are you the kind of teacher who sees potential before behaviour?

Do you believe relationships come before results, and that the right support can completely change a young person’s future?

We are working with an exceptional specialist school seeking a passionate Maths Teacher with the ability to teach Science to join their dedicated secondary team. This is an opportunity to become part of a nurturing, forward-thinking environment supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and autism.

This role is about far more than delivering lessons. It’s about rebuilding confidence, creating trust, and helping young people rediscover a love of learning.

You’ll teach small class groups across GCSE and Functional Skills pathways, delivering engaging, adaptive lessons that meet learners where they are academically and emotionally. The school places a huge emphasis on inclusion, personal development, wellbeing, and creating a safe environment where every pupil feels valued and understood.

The role:

  • Teach Maths across KS3 & KS4
  • Deliver Science lessons where required
  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Differentiate learning to inspire engagement and progress
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students
  • Work collaboratively within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Maths in a secondary setting
  • Ability or willingness to teach Science
  • Strong behaviour management and trauma-informed practice
  • Passion for inclusive education and SEND/SEMH support
  • Resilient, compassionate, and committed to making a genuine difference

Why apply?

  • Small class sizes and meaningful student relationships
  • Supportive leadership team with a clear vision
  • Excellent CPD and career progression opportunities
  • A rewarding role where no two days are the same
  • Opportunity to transform the lives of vulnerable young people

If you’re ready to teach with purpose and want to be part of a school community where compassion and ambition go hand in hand, we’d love to hear from you.
