SEMH Maths Teacher - September start

Are you a maths specialist that is seeking a new challenge from September?  Do you have experience with students that have SEMH and adapting lessons to meet their needs? 

PS Inclusion are supporting an inclusive secondary school that has students come to them at points of their secondary education, most likely due to being removed from mainstream from a breakdown, behaviour issues, or internal struggles that affect their learning and the focus is to get them back on track by either returning to mainstream once feeling more positive or being supported up to Year 11 within their setting. 

As a Maths Teacher for these profile of students you need to be engaging, creative, have strong behaviour management skills and de-escalation techniques, you will need to modify your lessons to keep the attention of the students and potentially perform interventions. The classes will be up to 6 students which means you have the ability to really get to know your students, understand their needs and build rapport with them. 

The criteria for this role is as follows; 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) 
  • Subject specialism maths 
  • Proven experience as secondary maths teacher up to GCSE 
  • Experience within an SEMH, PRU or Inclusive setting 
  • Able to commit to a 1 year contract 
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Background in supporting students with trauma, deprived upbringings, special educational needs 
  • Child & Adult DBS on the update service (if you do not have this PS Inclusion can process one for you)
