Role - Music Teacher, Alternative Provision Setting
Location - Newham
Full-Time, Long-Term
September 2026 Start
For some young people, music is more than just a subject, sometimes, it’s the one lesson where they truly feel successful.
This specialist PRU setting in North East London is looking for a resilient and engaging Music Teacher who understands the power creative subjects can have for students with additional needs.
You won’t just be teaching music here, you’ll be helping students reconnect with education.
The Role
You’ll deliver engaging KS3 Music lessons alongside elements of the Pearson BTEC Performing Arts curriculum within a secondary alternative provision setting.
Students here may have SEMH needs, disrupted educational experiences, or barriers that have made mainstream education difficult. Lessons therefore need to be flexible, practical, and adapted to meet students.
Music is a key part of the curriculum and often one of the students’ favourite parts of the week. Your ability to create a positive, safe, and creative learning environment will make a genuine impact.
