As a Primary Teacher, you know that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Every lesson, conversation, and achievement helps build a child’s confidence, resilience, and belief in their own potential.

What if you could use those skills to make an even greater impact?

We are working with a specialist provision in Richmond that supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both academically and personally.

The Opportunity

A growing specialist school is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEMH Primary Teacher to join their team from September 2026. The provision supports pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom have experienced significant challenges in their lives. Some pupils may also have additional needs, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where relationships are at the heart of everything they do. Staff work collaboratively to create meaningful learning experiences that support emotional development, encourage engagement, and celebrate progress in all its forms.

This is a rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Create a positive, supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued.

  • Use effective behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and promote positive outcomes.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

  • Support pupils through key stages of their educational and personal development.

  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches to maximise achievement and wellbeing.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Experience teaching within a primary setting.

  • A resilient, patient, and positive approach to teaching.

  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

  • An understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice is desirable.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children and young people.

Why Apply?

  • Join a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team.

  • Make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who need it most.

  • Access ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Long-term role with the potential to become permanent.
