Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH and trauma-informed therapeutic school in Chelmsford, who are looking for a passionate Primary Teacher to join their team.

The Role
As a Primary Teacher, you'll work as part of a team-teaching environment, delivering engaging lessons while working closely with support staff and therapeutic professionals.
You'll have the opportunity to really get to know your pupils, understand what sits behind their behaviour and adapt your teaching to help them succeed.
You'll be:
- Planning and delivering engaging, creative and accessible primary lessons.
- Adapting your teaching to meet individual learning, emotional and developmental needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and trauma-related needs within a nurturing environment.
- Working closely with teachers, support staff and therapists to provide consistent support.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and creating a classroom where they feel safe and valued.
- Monitoring progress and using assessment to adapt your teaching and interventions.
- Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Contributing to a wider therapeutic approach where wellbeing and education go hand in hand.
About You
We're looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with children who may not have thrived within a traditional school environment.
You will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching primary-aged pupils.
- A strong understanding of SEMH and/or trauma-informed practice.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- The ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with young people.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The flexibility to adapt your approach depending on the needs of the individual pupil.
- A genuine belief that every young person can make progress when given the right environment and support.
Experience within a specialist, SEMH, alternative provision or therapeutic setting would be highly beneficial.
