Are you passionate about helping young people with SEND overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential?
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic SEMH Pupil Support to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that relationships come first. You will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn, while encouraging them to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need for life beyond education.
The role
As an SEMH Pupil Support, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Provide consistent emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day.
- Support pupils to manage emotions, regulate their behaviour and develop positive coping strategies.
- Work alongside teachers and other professionals to provide personalised support.
- Encourage engagement with learning and help pupils overcome barriers to participation.
- Support classroom activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.
- Reinforce clear, consistent boundaries using a calm and relational approach.
- Help pupils develop social skills, confidence, resilience and independence.
- Recognise and celebrate progress, including the small steps that can make a huge difference.
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour and wellbeing procedures at all times.
- Contribute positively to a supportive and inclusive team.

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs would be highly desirable. Experience within education, care, youth work, mentoring or similar settings will also be considered.
