SEMH Support Assistant
Tower Hamlets
Secondary SEMH Setting
Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:30pm
Are you interested in working in a social, emotional, mental health school? Do you have a trauma informed response to young people with additional needs?
Being part of an SEMH school can be challenging but rewarding, students within this school setting have needs that cannot be met by mainstream education meaning that their way of learning has to be bespoke to academic and personal needs. Most of these students may face daily struggles of poverty, gang affiliation and trauma meaning the support they get at school has to be consistent and trustworthy.
I'm seeking candidates that have an open mind, adaptable and willing to give it their all to work in a specialist setting either one-to-one or in group settings from Year 7 - Year 13 starting after Easter half term, experience desired as follows;
- Experience supporting young people with mental health, trauma and social and additional needs.
- SEMH School or PRU Experience desired (however this school is not a PRU)
- Experience within sports/boxing or positive outlets for young people in deprived settings
- Fantastic communication skills and strong English Language skills
- Resilient, calm and nurturing approach
- Desire to commit to a long term opportunity and commitment to the school
- Punctual
- Enthusiastic and positive energy
