Full Time Temp to Perm

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

A specialist SEMH school in Enfield is seeking an inspirational SEMH Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a setting where pupils often arrive having faced significant barriers to learning, some may have experienced trauma, disrupted education, or struggled in mainstream environments. Here, relationships come first, and every day offers a fresh opportunity for a child to re-engage with learning and rebuild their confidence.

About the Role

You will teach a small class of pupils with SEMH needs, delivering a curriculum that blends academic learning with emotional development, life skills and personalised support. No two days look the same, but every day is impactful.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to build trust and positive relationships
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom where pupils feel seen and valued
  • Working collaboratively with behaviour mentors, support staff and external agencies
  • Supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation, communication and resilience
  • Tracking progress and contributing to personalised learning plans

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS, with experience in primary or secondary teaching
  • Has experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Uses positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies confidently
  • Brings empathy, resilience and consistency to their practice
  • Believes in second chances and the potential within every child

What the School Offers

  • Small class sizes with high levels of support
  • A strong, experienced leadership team that prioritises staff wellbeing
  • A therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to behaviour and learning
  • Regular CPD including SEMH, safeguarding, de-escalation and mental health training
  • A pathway to permanent employment for the right candidate

If you’re ready for a role where relationships matter, progress is personal, and no achievement goes unnoticed, we’d love to hear from you.
