Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (M1–M6, dependent on experience)
Full-Time | Term Time Only
Imagine teaching in a setting where relationships come first, every small step forward is recognised, and your role goes far beyond delivering lessons.
Where your presence, consistency, and belief in a young person can help them re-engage with education—and begin to see a future for themselves.
If you are ready to make a genuine difference in SEMH education, this could be a truly rewarding opportunity.
The Opportunity
Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Harlow, currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join their team.
This is a setting built on kindness, respect, responsibility, and safety—values that underpin everything they do for both pupils and staff. With a strong focus on wellbeing and continuous professional development, it is a supportive environment where you can grow and thrive in your career.
You will be joining a collaborative team where every member of staff is valued, and where the impact you make is seen every single day.
The Role
This is more than a teaching role—it’s an opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to reconnect with learning in a way that works for them.
You will have the time, support, and flexibility to tailor your teaching to each individual, helping pupils build confidence, regulate their emotions, and make meaningful progress both academically and personally.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with SEMH needs
- Adapting your teaching to suit a range of abilities and emotional needs
- Using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches to support learning
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support holistic pupil progress
- Contributing to individual learning and behaviour plans
About You
We are looking for someone who is not only a skilled teacher, but also a calm, resilient, and compassionate role model.
You will ideally:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs (or a strong interest in transitioning into this area)
- Be patient, consistent, and emotionally aware
- Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Be committed to inclusive education and making a difference
Why This Role?
- A supportive and values-driven SEMH setting
- A strong focus on staff wellbeing and development
- Opportunities for ongoing CPD and specialist training
- A collaborative, welcoming team environment
- The chance to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives

- Access to exclusive SEMH roles
- Expert support with CVs, applications, and interviews
- Ongoing guidance throughout your placement and beyond
