SEMH Teacher (Hair & Beauty Specialism)

Specialist SEMH Setting

Enfield

1 Year Fixed Term

Not every classroom has four walls… some have salon chairs, mirrors, and the buzz of clippers.

A specialist SEMH setting in Enfield is looking for a Hair & Beauty Teacher who can do more than deliver a qualification, someone who can build confidence, create opportunities, and help young people see a future for themselves.

This is a school where relationships are at the heart of everything. A place where progress might look like a student picking up a brush for the first time, holding a conversation, or simply choosing to engage. Small wins matter here, and they build into something life-changing.

About the Role

You’ll lead and deliver a Level 1/2 Hairdressing and Barbering qualification to Post-16 students in a purpose-built salon space designed to mirror a real working environment.

But this role is about more than technical skills. It’s about helping students:

  • Build confidence and independence
  • Develop employability skills and real-world experience
  • Explore creativity through hair, beauty and self-expression
  • Understand professional standards within the industry

There’s also the opportunity to bring in wider elements like makeup artistry, beauty therapy, or broader vocational skills, giving students a fuller experience of the industry.

What Makes This Role Different

  • A brand-new, fully equipped salon environment
  • A curriculum you can shape and make your own
  • A team that genuinely supports each other (and you)
  • A school that understands behaviour is communication
  • Flexibility, with potential to go full-time if you bring additional skills

Who This Would Suit

  • A Hair & Beauty specialist or teacher with industry experience
  • Someone who values relationships as much as results
  • A calm, patient and consistent presence in the classroom
  • Experience with SEMH/SEND is ideal, but mindset matters just as much

If this sounds like your kind of role, contact Katie at Parker Smith Inclusion on 0203 011 4848 or apply to this advert.

Parker Smith Inclusion works with a wide range of specialist settings, if this isn’t quite the right fit, we’d still love to help you find one that is.
