Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs and helping them re-engage with learning in a structured, nurturing environment.

Role: SEMH Teacher

Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: M1 to UPS (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
You will teach and support pupils in Years 7 to 11, delivering engaging, personalised lessons that meet a wide range of learning and emotional needs. The provision focuses on building trust, developing resilience, and supporting both academic and personal growth.
Your role will involve creating a safe and structured classroom environment where students feel supported, understood, and motivated to succeed. You will play a key part in helping learners build confidence, regulate emotions, and achieve meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic development.
- Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
What We’re Looking For
- QTS is desirable but not essential — teacher training can be provided for the right candidate.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching approaches.
