Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? Do you want to make a real difference in helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both emotionally and academically?

We are working with a progressive and inclusive SEMH specialist school in Enfield, seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports students with significant SEMH needs and associated challenges, offering a structured, nurturing environment where students can rebuild trust, confidence, and engagement in learning.

About the Role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs often combined with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences

  • Providing consistent, calm and emotionally literate support in and outside of lessons

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and behaviour support teams to deliver individualised intervention plans

  • Promoting a safe, structured, and relational learning environment

  • Supporting learning in both 1:1 and small group settings

The School Is Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has experience (formal or informal) working with young people who have challenging behaviour or SEMH needs

  • Is emotionally resilient, patient, and able to remain calm in high-pressure situations

  • Has a strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and restorative practices

  • Can build trusting, therapeutic relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or exclusion

  • Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners

What the School Offers:

  • A supportive and skilled team committed to trauma-informed practice

  • Regular training and CPD focused on SEMH, behaviour support, and therapeutic approaches

  • Opportunities for career development within a growing trust

  • A real chance to change lives and make a lasting impact on young people who need it most

If you're ready to take on a rewarding challenge and support students with SEMH needs in a meaningful way, we want to hear from you.
