We are working with a progressive and inclusive SEMH specialist school in Enfield, seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports students with significant SEMH needs and associated challenges, offering a structured, nurturing environment where students can rebuild trust, confidence, and engagement in learning.
About the Role:

Supporting students with SEMH needs often combined with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences

Providing consistent, calm and emotionally literate support in and outside of lessons

Supporting students with emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and behaviour support teams to deliver individualised intervention plans

Promoting a safe, structured, and relational learning environment

Supporting learning in both 1:1 and small group settings
The School Is Looking for Someone Who:
-
Has experience (formal or informal) working with young people who have challenging behaviour or SEMH needs

Is emotionally resilient, patient, and able to remain calm in high-pressure situations

Has a strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and restorative practices
-
Can build trusting, therapeutic relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or exclusion

Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
