This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive SEN setting in Wembley, North West London. The school supports pupils across primary and secondary age ranges with social emotional and mental health needs, providing a calm structured and nurturing environment where every child is supported to succeed.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe understood and ready to engage with learning. You will work closely with teachers SENCOs and pastoral teams to deliver consistent emotional and behavioural support both in and beyond the classroom.

 

The role
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a one to one and small group basis
Helping pupils manage emotions behaviour and transitions throughout the school day
Supporting access to learning across the curriculum
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to education
Implementing behaviour support strategies and personalised plans
Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

A full time PAYE role with a clear temporary to permanent pathway
Daily rate of £90 to £110 depending on experience
Ongoing training in SEMH behaviour support and trauma informed practice
