SEMH Teaching Assistant - South East London - South East London

£90 - £100 - Long Term

Do you want to be the reason a child believes in themselves again? SEMH children need consistency, someone to build trust and a relationship with, which can lead to you seeing their true development.

At Parker Smith Inclusion, we work with schools across South East London supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. These are pupils who may suffer from social difficulties, emotional regulation, mental health and behavioural problems — but these pupils are filled with potential when given the right support.

We are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants who don’t just want a job, but want to change a life.

This role is for you if:

  • You can stay calm when a child is dysregulated.

  • You understand that behaviour is communication.

  • You believe relationships come before results.

  • You celebrate small wins — because you know how big they are.

  • You show up, even on the tough days.

You don’t need to be perfect but you do need empathy, resilience, patience, and a genuine desire to help young people feel safe, seen, and supported.

What to expect:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you may be:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups

  • Helping children regulate emotions and rebuild trust

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN teams

  • Being a consistent, caring presence in a child’s school day

Why Choose Parker Smith Inclusion?

  • We are a SEND Specialist Consultancy.

  • Honest conversations, no misleading information.

  • Long-term placements that prioritise the right fit.

  • Ongoing support, training, and career guidance.

  • A team that genuinely cares about you as much as the students.

If you match the above criteria, already have experience, or maybe don't have any experience but have a passion for choosing SEND as a career, contact us today on 0203 011 4848 or email luke.conner@psinclusion.co.uk
