SEMH Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist education setting in Barnet.
This role would suit someone who already has experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, challenging behaviour or barriers to learning.
What will you be doing?
You will work closely with pupils who may have found mainstream education difficult and who benefit from consistent, relationship-led support.
Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs

Helping pupils remain engaged in lessons

Providing individual and small-group support

Supporting emotional regulation

Reinforcing clear and consistent boundaries

Helping pupils return to learning following difficult moments

Building positive relationships without becoming over-familiar

Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff

Previous experience working with children or young people
