Do you believe strong relationships and consistent mentoring can help young people with SEMH needs rebuild confidence and re engage with learning?

This SEMH Youth Mentor role is based within a specialist SEN school setting in Harrow, supporting pupils across primary and secondary age ranges with social emotional and mental health needs. The school offers a structured nurturing environment where relationship based support and emotional safety are central to pupil progress.

As an SEMH Youth Mentor, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to provide targeted mentoring and emotional support. You will help pupils develop resilience self regulation and positive behaviour while supporting their engagement both in the classroom and around the school.

 

The role
Providing one to one and small group SEMH mentoring
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation behaviour and social development
Using trauma informed and de escalation approaches
Supporting pupils during lessons transitions and unstructured times
Building strong trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting behaviour plans interventions and EHCP targets

 

The school offers
A full time PAYE role with a clear temporary to permanent pathway
Daily rate of £90 to £110 depending on experience

Experience mentoring or supporting children or young people with SEMH SEN or behavioural needs
