Outreach SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Kingston upon Thames & Richmond upon Thames
- Full-time, Term-time only
- Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
- £130 per day (PAYE)
A specialist outreach and intervention service in Kingston upon Thames is seeking an experienced SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support primary-aged pupils who are struggling to access mainstream education.
This role involves planning and delivering National Curriculum-aligned lessons independently, primarily on a one-to-one or small group basis, outside of a traditional classroom environment.
Pupils may be out of school or on reduced timetables due to SEND, anxiety, emotional regulation needs, or disengagement from learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum
- Teach English, Maths, and broader curriculum subjects
- Support pupils with SEND, anxiety, and emotional needs
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning profiles
- Work flexibly across education hubs, community settings, or alternative provisions
- Liaise with schools, families, and professionals
- Record progress and contribute to reintegration planning
Requirements
- Must have a minimum a year of classroom experience
- Proven experience in planning and delivering lessons independently
- Strong knowledge of the primary National Curriculum
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly with Autism/ASC, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
