Parker Smith Inclusion is excited to work closely with a school based in Newham, offering a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. This school caters to children with a wide range of learning difficulties, Autism/ASC, and complex needs. Many of the children have Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN), with some being non-verbal and others using wheelchairs or requiring mobility support.

What is it like to work in as a LSA?

Working as a Learning Support Assistant in a specialist SEN environment is a truly rewarding experience. It’s not just about teaching – building strong, trusting relationships with children and helping them overcome everyday challenges. You will be part of a team that ensures every child feels safe, valued, and supported. No two days are the same; one day, you might be helping a child in the hydrotherapy pool; the next, you could assist with feeding and personal care or work with therapists to support a child’s communication needs. It requires patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

Learning Support Assistant Role Details:

  • Full-time Learning Support Assistant position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4pm (term time only)
  • Working closely with children with a range of needs, including assisting in the hydrotherapy pool, feeding, and toileting
  • Collaborating with a skilled and supportive team of professionals
  • Daily pay rate of £90 to £100, depending on experience (paid via PAYE)

What We’re Looking For:

  • A team player with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Someone comfortable with supporting children’s physical needs, including swimming and personal care
  • You don’t need to have previous SEN experience; if you have the right attitude and commitment, the school will provide full support and training for you as a Learning Support Assistant.

If you're looking for a fulfilling role as a Learning Support Assistant where you can make a meaningful impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Apply today or contact Elise Harnwell at Parker Smith Inclusion!
