Learning Support Assistant
East Ham | £90–£105 per day PAYE | Full-Time | Term Time Only
We are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in East Ham, and we are seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant to join the team.
This full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday) involves supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across the primary age range. The role will include 1:1 support as well as small-group intervention work within the classroom, helping pupils access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.
About the Role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with EHCPs, including those with needs related to ASD, ADHD, communication and learning difficulties
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver an inclusive, engaging learning experience
- Support pupils’ emotional, social and academic development throughout the school day
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour in line with the school’s values
- Contribute to creating a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
About You:
- Experience supporting children—particularly those with SEND or EHCPs—is highly desirable
- Patient, calm and caring, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- A proactive team player who can adapt to pupils’ individual needs
- Eager to grow and develop professionally—an excellent opportunity for those exploring a career in education or SEN support
The Offer:

- Training and ongoing support provided throughout your placement
