Learning Support Assistant
East Ham | £90–£105 per day (PAYE) | Full-Time | Term Time Only

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a warm, inclusive mainstream primary school in East Ham, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

This is a full-time, term-time only role (Monday to Friday), supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across the primary age range. The successful candidate will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small-group interventions, helping pupils to engage with learning and reach their full potential within a nurturing classroom environment.

The Role

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, including needs relating to ASD, ADHD, communication and learning difficulties
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to promote inclusive and engaging learning
  • Support pupils’ academic, emotional and social development throughout the school day
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour in line with school values
  • Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children, particularly those with SEND or EHCPs, is highly desirable
  • Patient, caring and calm, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A proactive team player who can adapt to individual pupil needs
  • Keen to develop professionally—ideal for those considering a career in education or SEN support
