The School:
I am working with a MS Primary School based a short walk from East Ham station that is part of a larger trust, they have a growing need for SEN support within their Autism provision created to set up pathways for children that require additional support.
The Role as a SEN Learning Support Assistant:
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant you will be working 1:1 and in group setting supporting children that display additional needs such as autism, dyslexia, speech & language challenges, global delay and other complex needs. You will be the support system for this child and for the teacher meaning you have to be committed, passionate and patient to help these children every day.
Experience required/desired
- Previous experience working with SEN children in a school or personal capacity (essential)
- A clear understanding of autism and how it can affect children's behaviour
- Fantastic behaviour management skills
- Experience of working with children that display dysregulated behaviour
- Team teach, autism awareness trained is desired but not essential.
