SEN Secondary Teacher

A specialist SEND school is seeking a passionate and resilient Teacher to support pupils across Key Stages 4 and 5 from September.

The school supports students with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Staff are committed to creating a safe, structured and supportive environment where young people are encouraged to rebuild confidence, engage in learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

This role will involve teaching and supporting KS4 and KS5 pupils with complex SEMH needs, many of whom require consistent routines, strong relationship-building and a therapeutic approach to learning. The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos, experienced leadership team and strong pastoral support.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching experience
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural needs or within specialist SEND settings
  • Be confident teaching secondary-aged pupils across KS4 and KS5
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Remain calm, resilient and consistent in challenging situations
  • Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and supportive staff team
