Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership SEND schools across Sutton, Merton and Wandsworth that support students with a wide range of needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), sensory processing challenges, and physical and mobility difficulties.
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting ASAP until July 2026.
About the Role:
You could be teaching a small class of Primary and Secondary-aged students with complex needs, supported by a team of skilled and experienced support staff. The curriculum is adapted to suit a wide range of abilities and needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, independence, sensory integration, and life skills.
Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to students’ EHCPs

Leading a class team of support staff including TAs and therapists

Creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment

Supporting students with personal care, moving and handling where required

Using communication systems such as Makaton or PECS to support non-verbal learners
-
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including SALTs, OTs, and physiotherapists
You Will Need:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

Experience working with students with SEND, particularly Autism, SLD, and PMLD
-
Confidence in supporting students with personal care and sensory needs

A calm, creative, and empathetic approach

Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other AAC systems is highly desirable
-
First Aid training is a bonus but not essential
