We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a nurturing Alternative Provision in the Croydon and Sutton area. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, a chance to build lasting relationships and have a real impact.
About the Role – SEN Teacher
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or significant barriers to learning.
You will deliver creative, individualised lessons to small groups of learners, focusing on emotional regulation, engagement, and personal growth as much as academic achievement.
You will:

Deliver inspiring and adaptable lessons for pupils from KS1 - KS4 with Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, Autism, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties?

Use a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to create a safe and positive learning environment.

Work closely with Therapists, Pastoral Leads, and Behaviour Mentors as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Support pupils to build confidence, resilience, and self-regulation through consistent routines and positive reinforcement.

Foster a culture of respect, understanding, and achievement.
What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) – experienced in teaching KS2–KS4 learners.

Experience in an SEMH, PRU, or Alternative Provision setting is highly desirable.

A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation strategies.

The ability to differentiate lessons and engage pupils with diverse learning styles and needs.

A resilient, patient, and empathetic teaching approach.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Pay and Contract Details

Pay: £194.21 – £287.97.84 per day (M1 - UP3) (Outer London, PAYE only)

Start Date: ASAP / November Start
