Parker Smith Inclusion is looking for a full-time SEN Teacher / Special Needs Teacher to work within a specialist SEND setting in Camden.

We're interested in hearing from experienced SEND teachers, as well as strong mainstream teachers who are ready for something different and genuinely interested in specialist education.

You don't need to arrive knowing everything about SEND.

You do need to be curious about your pupils, willing to adapt and comfortable accepting that successful teaching doesn't always look the same for every child.

Your classroom

Specialist teaching is highly individual.

The pupils in front of you may have very different levels of communication, understanding, independence and confidence.

That means the best lesson isn't necessarily the one that followed the plan perfectly.

It's the one where your pupils were able to engage, understand, communicate and make progress.

As an SEN Teacher, you may:

• Plan creative and accessible learning around individual needs

• Deliver lessons to smaller groups of pupils

• Differentiate learning significantly within the same classroom

• Work closely with SEN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants

• Support pupils' communication, emotional regulation and independence

• Assess progress from individual starting points

• Adapt your teaching in response to what pupils are communicating

• Contribute to individual learning plans and wider pupil outcomes

• Work alongside experienced SEND professionals

Who would thrive here?

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent

• Availability for full-time work, Monday–Friday

• Strong teaching and classroom practice

• Ability to differentiate and adapt learning

• Patience, consistency and creativity

• Excellent communication skills

• Genuine interest in specialist SEND education

Desirable:

• Special-school teaching experience

• Mainstream experience supporting pupils with SEND

• Autism or learning difficulties experience

• Experience of personalised or highly differentiated learning

• Experience working alongside therapy or multidisciplinary teams
