About the Role
Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher with expertise in ASC? A well-regarded and inclusive primary school in Brent is looking for a dedicated Classroom Teacher to lead a specialist provision class for autistic pupils (Years 1–4), integrated within the mainstream setting.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, well-resourced environment. The class is staffed with four experienced Teaching Assistants and is designed to help students gradually reintegrate into their year-group classrooms.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a specialist classroom for autistic students with complex needs

Plan and deliver short, focused lessons in core subjects including Phonics, Maths, and Writing

Develop and implement personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs

Support students in developing communication, independence, and social skills

Work closely with the SENCO, senior leadership, and external professionals

Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to support each learner’s development

Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
About the Students

All pupils have a diagnosis of Autism (ASC)

Mixed-age group: Years 1 to 4

Range of communication styles, from non-verbal to emerging language users

Varying academic levels and additional needs
The Ideal Candidate
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with relevant UK teaching experience

Proven experience working in SEN settings, especially with children on the autism spectrum

Confident in leading a team of Teaching Assistants and managing a small, complex class
-
Skilled in adapting lessons and delivering personalised, structured learning
-
Committed to inclusive education and the successful reintegration of pupils into mainstream classes
-
Reflective, resilient, and collaborative, with a positive approach to problem-solving
