We are recruiting a full-time, permanent SEN Teacher for a specialist school in Cricklewood, North West London. The school supports pupils aged 7–16 with Autism (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher seeking a long-term SEN teaching role within a structured, therapeutic and supportive environment.

The school provides small class sizes, integrated therapeutic support and a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, enabling pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned to EHCP outcomes

  • Teach small classes of pupils with Autism and SEMH across primary or secondary phases

  • Create a structured, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

  • Support pupils’ emotional regulation, communication and social development

  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as required

  • Implement consistent behaviour management strategies

  • Work collaboratively with therapists, SEN support staff and families

  • Contribute to annual reviews and professional reporting processes

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, Autism (ASC) and/or SEMH

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Ability to differentiate learning for complex needs

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

Desirable

  • Experience in a specialist school or alternative provision

  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice

  • Experience delivering personalised learning programmes
