Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Day Rate: £90 per day PAYE (Long Term Temp to Perm Opportunity)

We are working with one of our partner schools in Havering to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a long-term temporary placement with the potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate. You will join a committed team within a supportive primary school, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs, including autism and ADHD, under the guidance of class teachers.
Key Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team to support children with additional needs rather than being assigned to one-to-one, reflecting the school’s inclusive ethos.

Use visuals and communication tools (including core boards) to support learning and engagement.

Support with behaviour management strategies within a SEND environment, using initiative to help both staff and children.

Be adaptable, flexible and ready to support more than one child across different contexts.

Collaborate with teaching staff and other adults, fitting into the school’s culture and values.
Person Specification / Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with a range of needs, including autism and ADHD.

Understanding of using visuals to support learning (e.g., core boards).

Ability to use own initiative to support both staff and children effectively.

Basic understanding of behaviour management for children with additional needs.

A genuine interest in inclusive education and being part of an ethical, high-quality team.
