Some schools teach lessons. Others teach life skills that last far beyond the classroom.

We are proud to be working with a specialist all-through SEND school in Hounslow, supporting children and young people from early years through to post-16. The school caters for pupils with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), many of whom are non-verbal, require mobility support, or have additional sensory and medical needs.

This is a role for someone who understands that progress does not always look the same for every child. Sometimes it’s a word. Sometimes it’s eye contact. Sometimes it’s simply feeling safe enough to engage.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across different age groups, working alongside experienced teachers and therapists to deliver consistent, person-centred care and education. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with ASC, SLD, and PMLD in class, during play, and in structured activities

  • Adapting your approach to suit pupils at different developmental stages

  • Encouraging communication using Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems (training provided)

  • Assisting with personal care, feeding routines, and sensory integration activities

  • Creating a calm, safe, and predictable environment where pupils can thrive

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on routine and emotional security

You will be supported with full training, including safeguarding, communication strategies, and behaviour support.

This position would suit:

  • Graduates in Psychology, Education, Criminology, or related fields

  • Individuals with experience in care, early years, youth work, or nursery settings

  • Aspiring SEN Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or Clinical Psychologists

  • Anyone committed to inclusive education and long-term impact

What the School Offers

  • A collaborative, nurturing team culture across primary and secondary phases

  • High-quality facilities and access to specialist therapies

  • Ongoing professional development and clear progression routes

  • Opportunities to secure a permanent role within the school
