SEN Teaching Assistant - Barnet

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time / Long-Term / Supply
Start Date: ASAP / Easter
Salary: £90-£100 a day
We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary and secondary schools in the Barnet area.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Support pupils with their academic, emotional, and social development
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning attitudes
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children with SEN (school, care, or youth work experience considered)
- Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Relevant qualifications (CACHE, Level 2/3, Psychology degree, etc.) are desirable but not essential
