SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southwark
Salary: £95 per day
Full Time | Term-Time Only (Mon – Fri 8:30am to 4:00pm)

At Parker Smith Inclusion we are currently partnering with an inclusive specialist school in Peckham that supports pupils with complex learning difficulties, Autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and severe learning difficulties (SLD) between the ages of 11 and 19. A lot of the pupils may require mobility support, have additional medical or sensory needs, and others may be non-verbal. This role may sound challenging, but you will help make a difference in these young people’s education.
Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant will allow you to support pupils during lessons, breaks and lunch while encouraging communication using techniques such as Makaton, PECS or AAC devices. Throughout your role, you will build and maintain trusting relationships with the young people in your care while maintaining a safe and calm environment.
Assisting with personal care and hydrotherapy sessions in the on-site pool is a must when it comes to the SEN Teaching Assistant role.
