About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential. If you have experience supporting children or young people in another setting and possess a positive, proactive attitude, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning and developmental needs.
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in classroom activities.
• Support the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
• Use communication tools and visual aids to promote understanding, independence, and engagement.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
• Support pupils during structured and unstructured periods throughout the school day.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
