Empower communication. Nurture potential. Make a lasting impact from day one.

Are you passionate about supporting young children during the most important stages of their development? Do you have the patience, enthusiasm and commitment to help pupils overcome barriers and achieve success?

We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school with a dedicated Deaf Provision, working primarily with children in Nursery and Reception.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support children with hearing impairments and additional learning needs within a caring educational environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

No BSL experience is required. The school will provide full support and professional development, including enrolment onto a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification after two terms within the role.

Key Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individual and small-group support to children in Nursery and Reception.
  • Encourage the development of communication, language and social interaction skills.
  • Support pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs to engage confidently in lessons and daily activities.
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions and learning activities.
  • Help children develop independence, self-confidence and positive relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, specialist practitioners and families to support pupil progress.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Caring, patient and committed to supporting young learners.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and SEND.
  • Confident building relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
  • Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn new communication methods and specialist strategies.
  • Enthusiastic about helping children reach developmental and educational milestones.

Previous experience within Early Years, childcare, SEND support or education is desirable but not essential. Candidates with transferable skills and a genuine desire to support children are encouraged to apply.

What Makes This Opportunity Special?

  • Gain valuable experience within a specialist Deaf Provision while working in a mainstream school setting.
  • Access ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Begin a funded BSL qualification after two terms to enhance your professional skills.
  • Join a welcoming and collaborative school community.
  • Make a real difference to children's confidence, communication and educational journey.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same and every achievement matters, we'd love to hear from you.
