SEN Teaching Assistant – Havering
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? As a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to join a fantastic school in Havering, you will provide essential support to students and work closely with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
Role Overview:

Supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech & language difficulties.

Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual learning plans (EHCPs).

Providing 1:1 and small group support, ensuring students remain engaged and confident in their learning.

Encouraging student independence by using positive reinforcement and adaptive teaching methods.

Supporting students in developing their social and emotional skills, creating a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere.

Assisting with classroom management, organisation, and lesson preparation to enhance student learning experiences.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with SEN, either in a school, nursery, or care setting.

A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.

A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

Relevant qualifications such as a CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
