We are currently working with a friendly and inclusive SEND School in Merton looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to work and engage with students with additional needs.
The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with a range of learning difficulties and dysregulated behaviour.
- Autism, Complex Needs, SLD, communication needs, heightened sensory difficulties, physical disabilities and PMLD
- Helping to implement individual strategies to support emotional regulation and positive engagement.
- Working alongside the SENCO, SEN teachers, and pastoral team to ensure the child’s needs are fully understood and met.
- Being a compassionate and consistent SEN Teaching Assistant, making every day count for the child you support.

- Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with SEND.
- Confidence in working with children who may present challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
- Patience, empathy, and a trauma-informed approach to building trust.
- A team player who is ready to get stuck in and be a steady, positive influence in a child’s day.
