SEN Teaching Assistant - Mole Valley, Surrey

Long-term to permanent, full-time, term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

£100 to £115 PAYE per day

Do you already know how to read a room before a child says a word? Can you tell the difference between a child who needs space and a child who needs you closer? Have you ever sat with a young person through a hard moment and known, without question, that staying calm was the whole job?

If that sounds familiar, you already understand more about this role than most job descriptions can explain.

This SEN school in Mole Valley, Surrey, supports children and young people with Autism, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom carry high anxiety and low confidence into the classroom. The work asks for patience that does not run out and consistency that pupils can rely on. Staff here are trained, supported and trusted to use that judgement every day.

The role involves working alongside primary and secondary-aged pupils, supporting them one-to-one and in small groups, and building the kind of relationship that lets a child feel safe enough to learn. You will work closely with teachers and the wider team, and you will receive proper training rather than being left to work it out alone.

This role would suit graduates in psychology, education, or related fields who are considering a future in teaching, therapy, or social work. It would also suit anyone with genuine experience of Autism, ADHD or SEMH, whether that is professional or personal, and anyone who already works in a SEND setting and wants more from where they are.

You do not need years of experience to apply. You need patience, consistency and a genuine interest in this kind of work.

Commutable from Guildford, Leatherhead, Reigate, Redhill and Godalming.
