SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Primary School)
Location: Harlesden, Northwest London
Pay: £100 per day PAYE
Contract: Full time, term time only, temp to perm
Start Date: September

Do you believe that the right support, at the right time, can completely change a young person’s future?

For many pupils with autism, school can feel overwhelming or inaccessible. With the right support, that can change.

Join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harlesden that is committed to supporting pupils with autism through structure, consistency, and a nurturing, child-centred approach. The leadership team prioritises early intervention, emotional regulation, and personalised support, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive both socially and academically.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will help create a safe, engaging learning environment, adapting strategies to meet individual needs and supporting children to build confidence, communication skills, and independence.

As an experienced or aspiring SEND practitioner, you will feel confident supporting pupils who may have sensory needs, communication differences, and require routine and structure throughout the school day. Your ability to build strong, trusting relationships will be key to re-engaging pupils in their learning journey.

This is where your presence is vital to the continued personal and academic development of these young students.

The current team come from a range of backgrounds, including:
• Experience working in SEN schools, mainstream primary settings, or early years
• Supporting children with autism, speech and language needs, or additional learning needs
• A strong understanding of the importance of routine, consistency, and clear communication
• A patient, calm, and resilient approach, particularly when supporting children with additional needs

If this role or any of the opportunities currently available with Parker Smith Inclusion has caught your interest, I’d like to share more details and guide you through the next steps.

Working with Parker Smith Inclusion, you will be respected for who you are and what you bring to the students in the schools we support. Contact Daniel at Parker Smith Inclusion so we can outline your next step in SEND education.
