SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kilburn, North West London
Pay: £90 to £100 per day PAYE

A specialist provision in Kilburn is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism, non verbal communication and complex needs. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for someone who recognises that progress can be quiet and gradual. It might look like a child remaining in class for longer, using a communication aid independently, or building enough trust to accept support from a familiar adult.
The role
• Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and communication needs
• Use visual timetables, structured routines and tools such as AAC to promote understanding and engagement
• Support pupils with sensory regulation, transitions and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team to follow EHCP targets and individual plans
• Encourage independence while celebrating small, meaningful steps of progress
Who this role would suit
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism, complex SEN or non verbal communication needs
• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient approach to behaviour and dysregulation
• Genuine interest in developing knowledge of sensory processing and communication strategies
• Reliable and committed to a long term role where consistency is essential
• Suitable for psychology or education graduates seeking specialist school experience
