SEN Teaching Assistant – EHCP & Primary Support | Cricklewood
Location: Cricklewood, North West London
Pay: £95–£110 per day PAYE
Job Type: Full time, term time only
Contract: Temp to perm
Setting: Mainstream primary school with a dedicated SEN provision
About the role
The right support can change how a child experiences school.
For pupils with additional needs, having a consistent adult who understands their individual targets, adapts learning and knows when to encourage independence can make a real difference.
A primary school in Cricklewood is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than provide classroom assistance. You will play an active role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress.
The setting
The school has a dedicated SEN provision and a strong focus on inclusive education.
You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and other support staff to understand individual pupils and ensure their EHCP targets are reflected in their day-to-day support.
The school values a consistent, nurturing approach and provides opportunities for support staff to develop their SEND experience.
The role
You will:
-
Provide one-to-one and small-group support
-
Support pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs
-
Adapt classroom activities to help pupils access the curriculum
-
Deliver targeted interventions under the direction of the SENCO or class teacher
-
Support communication, emotional regulation and social development
-
Follow individual targets and support strategies
-
Monitor and record pupil progress
-
Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and wider support team
Who we are looking for
This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with relevant experience supporting children with additional needs.
You will be:
-
Patient, caring and reliable
-
Confident supporting pupils on an individual basis
-
Organised and able to follow individual plans
-
Adaptable to different learning needs
-
A strong communicator
-
Positive and consistent in your approach
-
Committed to inclusion and pupil independence
Previous experience working with EHCPs, SEN, primary-aged children or targeted interventions would be beneficial.
Why this role matters
SEND progress is often found in the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
A child completing a task independently, communicating their needs, managing a difficult situation or feeling confident enough to participate can represent significant progress.
Your role will be to provide the consistency, encouragement and support that helps those moments happen.

Full time, term time only
-
Temp to perm opportunity
-

Dedicated support from experienced education professionals
