Are you passionate about helping young people with complex needs achieve independence and prepare for adult life?
We are working with a specialist Post-16 SEND school in Enfield that supports students aged 16–25 with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech, language, and communication challenges. The school is seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants who are committed to SEND, share the school’s values, and are confident in supporting young people in this age group.
About the Role
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
- Support lessons across a broad range of subjects, including English, Maths, ICT, PE, creative sessions, life skills, and work experience.
- Join students one day per week on work experience, helping them develop real-world skills and employability.
- Encourage students to build confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Assist teachers in managing classrooms, preparing resources, and delivering lessons.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external agencies to meet students’ educational, social, and emotional needs.
- Support students in developing life skills and preparing for adulthood, including independence and future pathways.
About You
- Have experience supporting young people with SEND, either in education or care settings.
- Have a strong understanding of ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are creative, flexible, and confident when working with young adults with complex needs.
