Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive specialist school?

We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and well-established specialist school in Haringey, supporting pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities and additional needs.

The school is looking for committed, enthusiastic individuals who are keen to build long-term relationships with pupils and become valued members of the school community.

  • Small class sizes of approximately 10 pupils, supported by a team of four staff members.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with complex special educational needs.

  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, independence and personal development.

  • Assist with personal care, mobility and physical needs where required.

  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

  • Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to support their progress and wellbeing.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants with a background in specialist schools or similar settings.

  • Mainstream Teaching Assistants looking to transition into SEN education.

  • Recent graduates interested in gaining valuable experience within specialist education.

  • Confident, compassionate and resilient individuals who are willing to learn and undertake training.

Previous SEN experience is beneficial but not essential, as the school provides comprehensive training, including manual handling, medication administration, personal care and other specialist support.
